What I Do

I turn complicated work into something people can use.

My experience lives where people, process, risk, and change meet. The title can change; the work I am best at still involves seeing the system, finding the gap, and making the next move clearer.

How I move a complicated workplace issue from “this is a lot” to “here is what we can do next.”

  1. The messy situationStart with the people, facts, risk, and competing needs actually in the room.
  2. The patternFind what is repeating, missing, or getting in the way.
  3. Practical optionsTranslate complexity into choices people can understand and use.
  4. A clear next stepHelp the right person move with more confidence and less noise.

The work you usually do not see

Making the invisible work visible

Most of the best HR work is invisible when it works—the crisis that did not become a crisis, the leader who got clear, the employee who knew what came next. This is where I make some of that work visible: how I think, what I have built, and the kinds of problems I know how to solve.

I did not ask for performance reviews and a stapler for Christmas while other kids were asking for Cabbage Patch Kids and G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu Grip. HR turned out to be the place where the way my brain works is genuinely useful: I notice patterns, ask questions, and connect dots so I can help people who help people decide what to do next.

Where the experience translates

Strategic HR

I have advised leaders through employee relations, performance, conduct, policy, leave, accessibility, accommodations, workforce planning, talent decisions, reorganizations, and other moments where the people answer and the business answer have to live in the same room.

I help people through change with empathy and clarity, while keeping decisions practical and risk-aware.

Accessibility and accommodations

Accessibility and accommodations—I bring over five years of subject matter expertise to recognizing barriers, making work more accessible, and adapting support to individual needs.

Process and organizational effectiveness

I turn recurring friction into clearer tools, templates, education, and repeatable processes. That has included helping build a centralized support function, designing communication workflows, and leading an advisor focus group to strengthen capability and alignment.

Management, sales, and the view from inside the business

I have worked in management, sales, customer service, recruiting, lending, and frontline operations—and supported many different lines of business across time zones. In banking and lending environments, risk mitigation was not a decorative phrase. The work was highly regulated, heavily matrixed, and accountable to policies, controls, customers, leaders, and partners who did not all sit in the same room—or the same time zone.

What that adds to my HR perspectiveI understand how decisions land beyond the HR meeting: with customers, employees, operations, risk partners, and leaders who still have a business to run after the meeting ends.

Why I keep choosing this work

I like helping people who help people.

Some people need help navigating a difficult conversation. Some are trying to become better leaders. Others need someone to slow things down, ask a few good questions, and help them see the situation more clearly.

I am able to be compassionate and deliver difficult messages with empathy. I also believe in the value of levity—not to minimize what is hard, but to help people breathe, connect, and find a way through it.

I can use all the fancy big words, but at the end of the day, I explain my work to my kids this way: I help moms and dads be better at their jobs.

Keep the conversation going
